Wishing everyone a symptom-free holiday week. I was not so lucky at first, but now I'm relaxing and hoping for extended period of calm. Yikes-- this is hard.

David, I hope you had a lovely Christmas despite Meniere's.

I coped pretty well, although I was careful about moving around too much and drinking too much wine. I did do too much... staying up to sing in the Christmas Eve church service was a mistake, but I would have hated to miss it. Now, after driving with my husband to see my family about 60 miles away, I feel as if I have jetlag, but it will pass. Meanwhile, I'm going out with friends tonight for dinner. Crazy times.

Tomorrow I'll start resting up. Meniere's does mean I get tired much more quickly than I did before, but I'm doing the best I can.

I'm developing a New Year's resolution to the effect that I will stop letting Meniere's define my life and start finding ways to lose the extra 20 pounds it's put on me.

I thought I was doing well coping with my menieres. Well I am not. When the room starts spinning, I freeze and pray that a full blown attack is not on it's way. I hate this disease that has no cause or cure.

I've just found and subscribed to your blog. Nice to see such an active community.

I was diagnosed with meniere's about 7 years ago, and thankfully it hasn't progressed much. I usually have only have an handful of attacks a year, and often all are in short period of time. I've found sudden sharp weather changes and salt intake to be my most sure-fire triggers.

While the real attacks with vertigo are rare, I find that my hearing loss and tinnitus is present at a low level almost all of the time, with periods of more acute symptoms that can last up to a couple months.

While the tinnitus and hearing loss is almost exclusive to my right ear, every once in a while it switches to my left ear. Im not sure what to make of this, but as its not something new, im hoping its not a sign that its progressing.
